Champion Roofing Project Gets Top Honors

Quality. It all comes down to quality.

Le Norman Properties has a reputation for owning and managing quality office structures in Oklahoma City. The subsidiary of Reign Capital Holdings is proud of that reputation. So, when the real slate roofing on some of their office buildings started to fail after just 15 years, they decided to make a change.

The search was on to replace mansard roofing on two of the five office buildings in the Gaillardia Parkway Office Park.

“The challenge for us is that weather in Oklahoma City changes frequently,” says David D. Le Norman, owner of Le Norman Properties LLC. “We needed a better quality product that could offer us a lifetime of protection from high winds, hail and other forms of severe weather.

“At the same time, we wanted an aesthetically pleasing roof. Something that would match the look of slate on the other structures in the office park.”

Le Norman’s first call was to Champion Roofing. Having dealt with the company on other projects previously, he respects their work, and their opinion.

“Champion Roofing has earned the right to be called first,” says Le Norman. “When they showed us the DaVinci Slate product, we knew we had found our solution.”

The DaVinci Single-Width Slate tile selected for the Gaillardia Parkway Office Park brings the type of quality to the office buildings that Le Norman desires. Plus, the composite slate mansard roof embodies durability and beauty.

Made of virgin resins, UV and thermal stabilizers, the tiles contain a highly-specialized fire retardant. The result is that each tile is Class A fire rated. Impressively, DaVinci tiles are also Class 4 impact rated to handle hail from Oklahoma storms. In addition, they can withstand winds up to 110 mph.

The 1/2″-thick tiles are modeled from actual slate for natural, non-repeating beauty. Plus they’re maintenance free and resist fading, rotting, cracking and pests. So the office park staff will have no problems with the roofs for decades.

“We chose the composite DaVinci product for its slate-like appearance and durability,” says Le Norman. “We chose Champion Roofing because of their first-class service and successful history installing this type of roofing system.

“They provided us with excellent communications during the installation process. For this project, they rotated around the building efficiently without disrupting any business operations.

“The Champion Roofing team did exactly what they said they were going to do, and the project turned out perfectly. We definitely feel that they’ve provided a quality product and roofing system that is resilient and will stand the test of time.”

For the excellent work done in re-roofing the two office buildings at Gaillardia Parkway Office Park, this composite slate mansard roof project from Champion Roofing was named as a winner of a 2023 DaVinci Masterpiece Contractor Project of the Year Award.

This is the only commercial project to receive the award in 2023. The Champion Roofing team earned the honor based on the excellence of installation work, outstanding visual impact and ability of the roofing work to transform the look of this project.

“We really enjoy installing DaVinci products,” says Mike Cowan, owner of Champion Roofing, LLC. “This is actually the second time we’ve won the Project of the Year Award and we’re grateful.

“DaVinci Slate is especially perfect for this mansard roof project at Gaillardia. It really allows you to see the whole roof tile and the Smokey Gray color. The roof serves as a great accent against the stone building. But of course it’s not all about looks. The quality of these roofing tiles assures the office building is protected from the elements long-term.

“Our customer is pleased and the project looks terrific. That’s a win for everyone.”
